- 07:00 PM – 07:30 AM
- 37.5 Hours per Week

Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment within an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care and ventilator management experience and thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environments.
This role involves providing respiratory care services to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and treat acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction
- Initiate, manage, and monitor ventilatory support using lung-protective strategies
- Perform ventilator monitoring, troubleshooting, and patient weaning
- Conduct ABG draws, sputum specimen collection, and bedside spirometry
- Interpret ABG results and monitor respiratory status
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, Heliox, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Assist with bronchoscopies, conscious sedation procedures, and intubations
- Respond to Codes and Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls
- Maintain and assess artificial airways including tracheostomy and laryngectomy tubes
- Perform tracheal suctioning and assist with tracheostomy tube changes
- Administer and manage non-invasive ventilation therapies
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide respiratory clinical expertise
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and charge reconciliation
- Support neonatal and pediatric respiratory care modalities
- Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies
- Assist with orientation, education, and training of staff and students
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License required
- RRT or CRT Certification required
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- NRP Certification required
- Minimum one year of critical care respiratory experience preferred
- Strong ventilator and airway management experience preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in high-acuity settings
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- English proficiency required (Read, Write, Speak)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
Certifications & Licensure
- Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- AHA BLS Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
