Licensed Site Professional and Senior Project Manager, Holyoke or Foxboro, MA
Sovereign Consulting Inc., a national environmental consulting and remediation firm headquartered in Robbinsville, NJ, is seeking a License Site Professional (LSP) / Senior Project Manager, with a minimum of 10 years of experience to work in either our Holyoke or Foxborough, MA offices.
The ideal candidate for the position is a responsible, self-motivated individual who is eager to take advantage of an excellent opportunity to work in a flexible work environment with one of the most highly regarded firms in the environmental consulting and site assessment / remediation business. Experience at retail petroleum sites and with the Massachusetts 21J reimbursement program is a plus, although not required.
Responsibilities:
· Manage environmental projects, site assessments, characterizations, and complex remediation projects from initial investigation to regulatory closure
· Ensure all site work satisfies Massachusetts General Law c. 21E and the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP)
· Design and implement strategies for soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion mitigation, including risk characterizations and monitoring
· Interpret and analyze site characterization data and information
· Prepare site characterization reports, investigative and remedial action plans/reports, closure plans, MCP prescribed reports, and other technical reports, as needed
· Act as the LSP-of-record to prepare, sign, and submit Waste Site Cleanup Activity Opinions and reports to MassDEP
· Develop site specific budgets, schedules, and work scopes and communicate risk and project status effectively with clients, legal teams, the public, and regulatory agencies
· Market and represent Sovereign Consulting at LSPA, SAME, EBC, etc. meetings as applicable
· Supervise, mentor, and guide junior technical staff
Requirements:
· Active Massachusetts LSP license in good standing and issued by the state Board of Registration of Hazardous Waste Site Cleanup Professionals (LSP Board)
· Attend training and professional development programs to maintain the LSP license under evolving state environmental standards
· 10+ years of environmental consulting experience, featuring hands-on involvement with the MCP and MassDEP Regulations, site investigation, and remediation technologies
· A Bachelors degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field
· OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and current 8-hour refresher preferred
· Excellent communication, analytical, and field sampling skills
· Demonstrated technical writing skills
· Must have a good driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle
