Job Description

Seeking a skilled special education teacher for a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role runs from August through June and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of high school students. Work closely with a supportive staff and help shape inclusive learning experiences in a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to high school students with identified educational needs
  • Develop, implement, and adapt IEPs in collaboration with students, families, and team members
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to help students achieve outlined goals
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to foster an inclusive classroom setting
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Previous experience supporting high school students in a special education setting preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum, modify instructional methods, and provide behavioral support as needed
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented atmosphere

Additional Details:

  • Contract runs from August 2026 to June 2027, Monday through Friday, 35-37.5 hours per week
  • High school caseload in a welcoming educational community
  • Located in the area near Newport, NH
  • One position available
