An opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse with stepdown and telemetry experience to provide specialized care in a cardiac stepdown unit. This contract position offers a focused role caring for patients recovering from advanced cardiac procedures such as TAVR, ablations, and pacemaker implantations.

This unit consists of 24 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4 for both day and night shifts, supported by a dedicated team including charge nurses, patient care technicians, and monitor techs. You will utilize telemetry monitoring equipment and document patient information through the Allscripts system. The scheduling requires availability every other weekend, with floating duties to similar cardiac or telemetry units as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active RN license with telemetry stepdown nursing experience
• Proficient in care for post TAVR patients, cardiac catheterizations, ablations, and watchmen devices
• Experience managing cardiac drips and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and care for cardiac stepdown patients, ensuring stable recovery post-procedures
• Administer treatments and medications as prescribed, including complex cardiac drips
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members for patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records
• Adhere to established unit policies and patient safety protocols
