Job Description
We are developing new approaches to tissue engineering and building a multidisciplinary team spanning reproductive biology, embryology, animal science, and translational research.
\n
\n
We are seeking a highly hands-on assisted reproduction specialist with experience performing minimally invasive oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer, reproductive ultrasound, and related ART procedures in mammals beyond traditional rodent models.
\n
\n
This role is particularly suited to someone with strong procedural skills who is comfortable working across different species, facilities, and research settings. Experience may come from human IVF, veterinary reproductive medicine, companion animals, zoo or wildlife medicine, or other mammalian systems involving animals approximately in the 10–100 lb range.
\n
\n
We are a small, collaborative organization where team members work across disciplines and contribute beyond narrowly defined roles when needed.
\n
What You’ll Do
\n
- \n
- Perform and support ultrasound-guided, minimally invasive oocyte retrieval procedures.
- Perform and support embryo transfer using minimally invasive approaches where appropriate.
- Conduct reproductive ultrasound, follicular monitoring, cycle tracking, and pregnancy assessment.
- Support ovarian stimulation, synchronization, and reproductive hormone protocols.
- Perform or support IVF, ICSI, embryo culture, micromanipulation, embryo handling, and related ART procedures.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize reproductive protocols across different mammalian systems.
- Adapt techniques to differences in anatomy, physiology, equipment, and facility capabilities.
- Work closely with veterinary, embryology, animal care, and research teams.
- Maintain accurate procedural, animal, and experimental documentation.
- Follow applicable animal welfare, IACUC, and research compliance requirements.
- Assist with preparation, equipment setup, procedure planning, and post-procedure follow-up.

Travel and Work Locations
\n
\n
Travel is an important and expected part of this role.
\n
\n
Procedures may take place at our facilities, collaborating research institutions, veterinary facilities, contract research organizations, or other partner locations. Work locations may vary depending on the project, species, and available animal resources.
\n
\n
Candidates should be comfortable:
\n
- \n
- Traveling regularly for scheduled research activities.
- Working at different facilities rather than exclusively at one fixed location.
- Traveling regionally and, when required, nationally.
- Adjusting schedules around animal cycles, stimulation protocols, procedure timing, and facility availability.
- Spending multiple consecutive days at a project location when required.
- Transporting or working with specialized procedural equipment as needed.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
The frequency, duration, and location of travel will vary by project.
\n
What We’re Looking For
\n
- \n
- Strong hands-on experience in assisted reproduction, reproductive medicine, embryology, or veterinary reproductive procedures.
- Demonstrated experience with oocyte retrieval and/or embryo transfer.
- Experience with ultrasound-guided reproductive procedures.
- Strong procedural and manual skills.
- Experience with IVF, ICSI, embryo culture, embryo handling, or related ART techniques.
- Ability to work effectively across different facilities and procedural environments.
- Excellent technical judgment and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Commitment to animal welfare and high-quality research practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with veterinary and scientific teams.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Particularly Valuable Experience
\n
- \n
- Transvaginal, laparoscopic, transcervical, or other minimally invasive reproductive procedures.
- Experience adapting ART techniques across multiple mammalian species.
- Reproductive ultrasound and follicular aspiration.
- Ovarian stimulation and reproductive endocrinology.
- Embryo transfer and pregnancy monitoring.
- Development and optimization of new ART protocols rather than exclusively following established clinical workflows.
- Experience troubleshooting difficult or non-standard reproductive procedures.
\n
\n

Employment and Compensation Options
\n
\n
We are open to different working arrangements depending on the candidate's experience, availability, and location.
\n
Full-Time or Part-Time Employment
\n
\n
Compensation will be based on experience and the expected scope of the role. Travel expenses associated with required work travel will be covered in accordance with company policy.
\n
Weekly / Project-Based Consulting
\n
\n
For experienced ART professionals who prefer not to take a traditional full-time position, we are also open to weekly or project-based consulting arrangements.
\n
\n
Consulting engagements may involve spending several days to several weeks working with the team or at a collaborating facility. Compensation may be structured as a weekly consulting rate covering activities such as:
\n
- \n
- Reproductive ultrasound and cycle monitoring.
- Oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer.
- IVF/ICSI and embryology support.
- Protocol development and optimization.
- Procedural planning and troubleshooting.
- Training and technical support.
- Coordination with veterinary and research teams.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Weekly compensation would be determined based on experience, responsibilities, project requirements, and travel commitments.
\n
\n
Reasonable approved travel, lodging, and related expenses would be covered separately.
\n
Work Environment
\n
\n
We are a small, highly collaborative organization where team members work closely across disciplines and are expected to contribute beyond a narrowly defined role when needed. The environment is hands-on, fast-moving, and practical, with an emphasis on reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, and shared responsibility for keeping research operations running smoothly.
\n
\n
Work Location: Variable; significant travel required
\n
Schedule: Project and procedure dependent
\n
Position Type: Full-time, part-time, or weekly/project-based consulting arrangements considered
