- Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
- Job Requirements
- BLS certification required (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF or Military; AHA preferred).
- Primary Source Verification of professional license and/or certification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted; NURSYS and BON required for nursing licenses.
- N95 fit test within 365 days to start date and updated annually; no fit testing onsite; fit test must be completed on MGB N95 Respirator Fit Test Record Form.
- 80% passing on MGB Medication Exam within 365 days for RN & LPN.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or proof of immunity required.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions or waivers accepted.
- Documentation of TB skin test screening or negative QuantiFERON TB Test or T-spot within 3 months of start date and updated if >6 month break.
- Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date and updated if >6 month break.
- MGB Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start date and updated if >6 month break.
- MGB Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date and updated if >6 month break.
- MGB Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state required for submission.
- Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation required if fit test is required for skill.
- Two recent references, minimum 1 Supervisor or Above, in skillset required.
- MGB Skills Checklist required for submission.
- MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
- MGB Education Verification required.
- MGB SSN Trace required.
- MGB National Sex Offender Check required within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- MGB Exclusion Checks required within 30 days of start and annually.
- MGB Candidate Submission Coversheet required for submission.
- Schedule Information
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
- Additional Details
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity strongly preferred but optional.
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred but optional.
- Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
- MGB TB Symptom Survey required if positive PPD, updated annually.
