Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching position is available to support students across a K-12 caseload at a school in Florence, MA. This contract role begins ASAP and continues through the end of the current school year.
The position requires experience working with a diverse group of students, ranging from elementary through high school levels, including grades 1-12 and middle school. Candidates with expertise in providing individualized instruction and accommodations in compliance with IDEA and IEP plans for students with special needs will be considered. Core responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored instruction to students with special education needs from grades K-12
- Collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records of student performance and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Creating inclusive classroom environments that promote student growth and engagement
- Participating in team meetings, assessments, and professional development sessions as required
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license appropriate for grades K-12
- Proven experience teaching various grade levels within the K-12 spectrum, preferably with a strong focus on special education
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and behavioral challenges
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues
