Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice in Worcester, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position will partner closely with attorneys throughout the lifecycle of active matters, from early case development through resolution, including trial and arbitration preparation. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to keep multiple deadlines and case materials moving efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate case activity from opening through resolution by maintaining files, tracking deadlines, and keeping attorneys informed of case progress.
• Prepare, organize, and revise legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and supporting materials for litigation, settlement discussions, and arbitration matters.
• Manage discovery workflows by collecting records, assembling responses, reviewing materials, and helping attorneys prepare production sets and related documentation.
• Support trial preparation by compiling exhibits, organizing case binders, coordinating witness and evidence materials, and ensuring attorneys are ready for hearings and court appearances.
• Maintain accurate information in case management software and update matter details, filings, deadlines, and related case documents on an ongoing basis.
• Assist attorneys with day-to-day litigation support, including document management, file organization, and preparation of materials needed at each stage of a case.
• Prioritize urgent requests and adapt quickly to shifting deadlines in a high-volume practice with competing demands.
• Contribute to matter preparation for cases that may resolve through settlement or proceed to arbitration by ensuring documentation is complete and readily accessible.• Prior experience as a paralegal or legal secretary supporting litigation matters in a law firm or similar legal setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of discovery processes, legal document preparation, and trial support activities.
• Hands-on experience working with case management software and maintaining organized electronic and physical case files.
• Familiarity with litigation procedures and the preparation of materials for hearings, arbitration, and trial.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with attorneys and legal staff.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and respond effectively to time-sensitive assignments.
