Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary assessments, including initial interviews, mental health evaluations, and case documentation from start to finish.

  • Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for clients, adjusting strategies based on progress and feedback.
  • \n

  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches.
  • \n

  • Monitor progress throughout the client's treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • \n

  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to develop integrated care plans.
  • \n

  • Follow up with psychiatrists and primary care physicians for clients requiring additional medical intervention.
  • \n

  • Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing ongoing support and resources to clients and their families.
  • \n

  • Assist family members and caregivers in navigating mental and behavioral challenges, offering education and support to enhance their roles in the recovery process.
  • \n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse clientele facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will be instrumental in creating a safe and supportive atmosphere where clients feel empowered to share their experiences and work toward healthier behaviors.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • \n

  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts.
  • \n

  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • \n

  • Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms, to effectively manage client data.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated knowledge of physical and emotional health conditions, as well as experience in the treatment of addiction disorders.
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on interpersonal effectiveness and empathy.
  • \n

Preferred Experience\n

  • Substantial experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a strong background in conducting assessments and providing therapeutic interventions.

  • Familiarity with best practices as defined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) to ensure compliance with ethical guidelines.

  • In-depth understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by other healthcare professionals, aiding in comprehensive client care.
