You will provide valuable assistance in both classroom and 1:1 settings, contributing to a positive and inclusive educational experience for all students. Your support will be especially meaningful in inclusion and intensive autism classrooms, where you’ll help facilitate academic success and foster a supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous paraprofessional experience in a school or educational setting preferred
- Familiarity with elementary grade levels and the needs of diverse learners
- Experience supporting students with autism or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with classroom teachers
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers by assisting with lessons, activities, and student engagement
- Provide individualized or small group support for students as directed
- Help implement and reinforce student accommodations and behavior plans
- Promote positive social and academic interactions among students
- Contribute to recordkeeping and documentation as needed
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture, ensuring every student feels valued
