\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN)\n
  • Current Massachusetts RN license required (Massachusetts nursing jobs)\n
  • Active BLS certification required; ACLS required within 60 days if not already held\n
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience; perioperative RN or surgical nurse background preferred\n
  • CNOR certification strongly preferred (perioperative certification)\n
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills\n
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced OR environment with competing priorities\n

\n\nResponsibilities (Perioperative / OR RN)\n

  • Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in accordance with established standards, protocols, and policies\n
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes\n
  • Maintain sterile fields and oversee the care, handling, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies\n
  • Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts and communicate results to the surgical team\n
  • Identify and verify patients and procedures, ensuring all safety protocols and time-out procedures are followed\n
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans before, during, and after surgery\n
  • Provide patient and family education, prepare patients for discharge, and support postoperative care coordination\n
  • Document all care, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and accurately in the medical record\n
  • Promote a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff\n
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, support learning for colleagues, and uphold perioperative best practices\n
