Job DescriptionDeli AssociateMcKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop is looking for a friendly, dependable Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with customers, takes pride in keeping a clean and organized department, and works well as part of a team.Deli experience is helpful but not required-we're happy to train the right candidate. Pay is commensurate with experience and overall fit.ResponsibilitiesGreet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly service with a smileAssist customers with deli selections and answer product questionsSlice, weigh, package, label and price deli products accuratelyStock, organize and rotate merchandise to maintain freshness and qualityKeep displays attractive, full and properly arrangedMaintain back stock in a clean and orderly mannerSafely operate knives, slicers and other deli equipmentFollow all food-safety, sanitation and workplace-safety proceduresKeep the department and surrounding work areas clean, well maintained and organizedHelp create a safe, clean and welcoming shopping environmentPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsFriendly, positive and customer-focused attitudeBasic knowledge of deli products is preferred, but not requiredAbility to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkersAbility to safely use knives, slicers and other cutting equipment after trainingDependable, attentive and able to work well as part of a teamAbility to follow instructions and maintain high standards for cleanliness and food safetyAbility to meet the physical requirements of the positionPhysical and Working RequirementsStand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to 8–10 hoursFrequently bend, reach, stoop and climbLift and move heavy products and supplies without assistancePerform repetitive hand and arm movements with good manual dexterityWork in areas with varying temperatures, including refrigerated coolersSafely use box cutters, knives and other department equipmentIf you're dependable, enjoy helping customers and want to learn, we'd love to hear from you.
