Job Description

Walker Construction, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Cutting / Coring professional to support high-quality, safe concrete demolition and preparation work in the Waterbury Center, VT area.

Position Summary

The Concrete Cutting / Coring position is responsible for performing concrete cutting, coring, and related prep tasks to prepare surfaces for construction and repairs. This role requires hands-on work, strong attention to safety, and the ability to follow job plans and site requirements to deliver accurate, clean results.

You will work as part of a crew to complete projects efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship, site cleanliness, and compliance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Operate concrete cutting and coring equipment to cut and core concrete accurately according to job specifications.
Prepare work areas, including layout support, marking cutting lines, and verifying measurements before work begins.
Follow established safety procedures, including site setup, hazard awareness, and appropriate personal protective equipment use.
Maintain tools and equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, and reporting maintenance needs.
Support jobsite readiness by keeping areas organized and assisting with related demo and cleanup tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

Ability to safely operate concrete cutting and coring equipment in an active jobsite environment.
Demonstrated attention to safety practices and the ability to consistently follow jobsite procedures.
Ability to read and understand work instructions and measurement requirements.
Willingness to perform physically demanding work, including standing, lifting, and working in confined or uneven areas.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic in a full-time onsite role.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with concrete cutting, coring, or related construction demolition work.
Familiarity with jobsite safety practices and safe equipment handling.
Experience working on construction crews and collaborating effectively with others to complete tasks on schedule.
Basic understanding of surface preparation and repair/installation requirements.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $24.00 - $28.00
