A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Med/Surg RN with strong neuro assessment skills and telemetry competency in Boston, MA. This contract position offers the chance to provide specialized care on a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Medical-Surgical unit, handling elective orthopedic, neuro/surgical, fracture patients, as well as medical overflow cases.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care with a focus on neurological assessment and telemetry monitoring
- Interpreting telemetry strips accurately to ensure patient safety
- Floating to related units as needed to support patient care demands
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care
- Charting patient information using EPIC electronic medical records
- Maintaining appropriate clinician-to-patient ratios (typically 1:4 to 1:6 depending on shift)
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in Med/Surg with neuro and telemetry skill sets
- Current Massachusetts RN license and BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips confidently
- Comfortable working night shifts with a requirement of 36 hours per week on nights and every other weekend
- Adaptable to rotating day shifts if needed, with minimal rotation frequency
