Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving high school students for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract role spans from August 2026 to June 2027 and offers the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. You’ll work Monday through Friday, with weekly hours ranging from 32 to 37.5, collaborating with dedicated colleagues and supporting high school learners to achieve academic and personal growth.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, and modifications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet varying learning abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Provide targeted instructional support within the classroom and in small groups
- Track and report on student progress, maintaining detailed documentation
- Partner with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to encourage student success
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other school activities
- Support students in developing life skills, social competency, and academic independence
