Job Description

The Panther Group is seeking a W2 Contract (12+ months with potential to extend) Infrastructure Project Coordinator to support network infrastructure and telecommunications projects for a leading higher education organization in Boston, MA. This role is hybrid 3-4 days a week on site.

  • This role is ideal for someone with a background in network infrastructure, structured cabling, construction coordination, and project management who enjoys working with technical teams, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to successfully deliver infrastructure projects from planning through completion.

What You'll Do

\n

    \n
  • Coordinate the execution of network infrastructure and telecommunications projects from initiation through completion.
  • \n

  • Define project scope, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements in partnership with internal technical teams, facilities, departments, and external vendors.
  • \n

  • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors performing structured cabling, telecommunications, fiber optic, copper, coaxial, and related infrastructure installations.
  • \n

  • Develop and manage project documentation, technical specifications, RFP packages, implementation plans, and project status reports.
  • \n

  • Review vendor proposals, bids, job reports, labor and material requirements, and overall project progress.
  • \n

  • Support estimating, budgeting, procurement, and material coordination for infrastructure projects.
  • \n

  • Ensure installations meet applicable infrastructure standards, specifications, building requirements, and established quality expectations.
  • \n

  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, IT, and other departments to coordinate network installations, expansions, relocations, and technology upgrades.
  • \n

  • Monitor project schedules, identify risks and resource gaps, and facilitate resolution of issues that could affect cost, schedule, quality, or delivery.
  • \n

  • Coordinate infrastructure requirements associated with renovations, new construction, technology refreshes, and implementation of new technologies.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate project records, service requests, trouble tickets, documentation, and status updates.
  • \n

  • Provide guidance to vendors and project teams regarding infrastructure standards, quality expectations, documentation, and best practices.
  • \n

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support the adoption of project management best practices.
  • \n

  • Occasional work outside of normal business hours or on university holidays may be required to support critical infrastructure activities.
  • \n

What We're Looking For

\n

    \n
  • 3–5 years of experience in network infrastructure, structured cabling, telecommunications, construction coordination, technical project coordination, or a related field.
  • \n

  • Experience with technical project management and coordinating projects from planning through completion.
  • \n

  • Working knowledge of BCSI standards.
  • \n

  • Basic understanding of construction practices, blueprints, and construction documentation.
  • \n

  • Ability to coordinate internal teams, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • \n

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • \n

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or the ability to interpret technical drawings is preferred.
  • \n

  • Hands-on understanding of network infrastructure, structured cabling, or telecommunications systems.
  • \n

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • \n

Education

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • \n

  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • \n

\n


\n

Preferred Experience

\n

The following would be a plus, but are not required:

\n

    \n
  • Construction or related field experience.
  • \n

  • Experience with fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cabling.
  • \n

  • Experience with CATV, CCTV, LAN, VoIP, or audio/video systems.
  • \n

  • RCDD, RCDD LAN Specialist, Installer, or Technician certification.
  • \n

  • Experience with Ortronics or similar structured cabling systems.
  • \n

  • Experience with McCormick or similar estimating systems.
  • \n

  • ITIL or PMP certification.
  • \n

  • Licensed electrician experience.
  • \n

  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • \n

Pay is up to $62.94 per hour
