Position: Regional Resource Sonographer (CIS)
Reports To: Regional Manager
Summary: The Resource Sonographer position covers both office and hospital-based accounts within and around Burlington, Massachusetts and the surrounding areas.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Perform OB/GYN and MFM exams at various locations within a geographical area to cover open accounts, vacation, and sick days.
- Acts as a resource to other sonographers
- Interact with Office Managers and Interpreting MDs as it relates to their patients
- Assist Clinical Leadership with training of newly hired sonographers
Patient and Account Relations
- Thoroughly explain the examination procedures to patients in a friendly, comforting manner
- Perform scanning according to ordering physician's requisition
- Transfer all test results to appropriate interpreting physician or to offsite screening service
- Execute protocols established by the Practice Manager and other physicians consistently
Equipment and Facilities
- Set up all scanning equipment and work area prior to seeing first patient
- Troubleshoot any equipment/software issues and reporting any issues to the Operations Coordinator in a timely matter
Requirements/Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree preferred or equivalent clinical experience
Credentials
- RDMS in OB/GYN and Abdominal required (with current OB/GYN and MFM experience or recent within 2 years) – General preferred – Vascular a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience post-RDMS
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a Clinical Imaging/Ultrasound environment
- Ability to work with Ultrasound/Imaging software (Viewpoint, Epic, etc.) preferred
- GE Voluson experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to plan, organize, follow-up and multi-task on a daily basis
Physical
- Light lifting may be required
- Work in climate-controlled office environment
Other
- Speak & understand English, good listening skills
- Must be capable of applying sound patient and ultrasound practices to all decisions
- Must have the ability to work with Ultrasound/Imaging software: Word, Excel, etc
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, Clinical Managers, and doctors
- Must have the ability to problem solve effectively in a timely manner
