About This Role
The Hermitage Club has a licensed Childcare Center. The Hermitage Club Childcare provides a high-quality experience for the children of our members and guests, focusing on fun, ski mountain related activities.
What You'll Do
As a Substitute Childcare Teacher, you will:
- Lead daily classroom activities, including indoor play, mealtimes, storytime and rest.
- Build relationships with parents through daily updates about their child's routine, development, and experiences.
- Help bring children outside daily. Teaching children the fun of winter sports starts with the correct clothing. A daily activity focusing on outdoor preparation will bring us outside even if we only discover that it is too cold to play outside.
- Help to maintain a healthy and clean classroom environment.
Requirements
In alignment with VT state regulations, substitutes are at least twenty (18) years of age, able to comprehend basic written format, and a high school graduate or has completed a GED.
Certifications:
- Pediatric First Aid and Infant/Child CPR are required, we can help you find training.
- Availability: Must be available Saturdays in January and February. Some shifts available upon hire, more available as reservations are made.
- We do not have snow days. You must have reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stay calm during one-on-one interactions with upset children.
