Registered Nurse - Birthing Center\n\n
Job Description\n
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the health status of individuals and groups, establishing nursing diagnoses, identifying and planning goals to meet healthcare needs, prescribing nursing interventions, implementing the plan of care, and evaluating and documenting responses to interventions. The Birthing Center is a level one low-risk birth unit utilizing single-room maternity care. Care is provided incorporating Orem's theory of self-care and the philosophy of family-centered care. Care is administered on inpatient or outpatient status.

The patient population includes obstetrical patients (antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum), clean female surgical cases, newborn stabilization, normal newborn care, and pediatric patients during the perinatal period. Cesarean births are performed and recovered in the Birthing Center. Nursing personnel are also provided for therapeutic abortions performed on other units when staffing permits.

- Evaluate and document responses to interventions.
- Provide care to obstetrical patients and newborns as needed.

\n\nSchedule\n
This position requires a shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.
\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n
- \n
- 1+ years minimum of current LDRP experience (400+ deliveries a year preferred).
- Experience with C-Sections, epidurals, and electronic charting (preferred).
- Active Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Vermont.
- Active American Health Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certification (highly preferred).
- Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (highly preferred).
- Active Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support (STABLE) certification (highly preferred).
- Travel experience (highly preferred).
