Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Lead pharmacy operations as a Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves overseeing daily pharmacy activities, including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services, while maintaining accurate records and supporting pharmacy staff. The position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Cambridge, MA, with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations and supervise pharmacy personnel.
- Maintain comprehensive records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations to staff.
- Oversee inventory management, balancing stock levels with waste reduction.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication issues.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints with professional service.
- Stay informed about industry developments and implement necessary changes.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance and safety.
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy environment in line with health protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- 2 to 4+ years of experience in long-term care (LTC) pharmacy settings.
- Recent experience in pharmacy management, preferably in LTC.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, primarily day shift; occasional evening and weekend coverage as needed.
