Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate mood disorder symptoms, including understanding their severity, frequency, and duration, through comprehensive clinical interviews and standardized measures.

  • Utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as primary interventions to address issues such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

  • Facilitate ongoing education sessions for clients and their families, guiding them through understanding mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.

  • Continuously monitor client progress through regular check-ins and adjustments to the treatment plan, ensuring that therapeutic approaches remain relevant and effective.

  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, discussing cases in multidisciplinary meetings to enhance treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work primarily with individuals facing mood disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, and bipolar disorder. Our clientele ranges from young adults to seniors, each facing unique challenges in their mental health journey. The therapist will be expected to handle varied cases, bringing a tailored approach to each therapeutic relationship and engaging effectively with diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Massachusetts.

  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly CBT and DBT.

  • Strong foundational knowledge in psychopharmacology and experience collaborating with psychiatrists and other health professionals.
