Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Cardiac position requiring strong PCU background and Epic EMR experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a hospital setting in the Stepdown Cardiac unit, contracted to the ED to care for inpatient and CICU level holds
- Manage a diverse patient population including cardiac, medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic overflow
- Common diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia
- Patients may include those s/p cardiac cath with stent, ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions (no CABG)
- Shift schedule is 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:30, with every other weekend required
- Floating requirements may vary among units
- Responsibilities include managing complex cardiac conditions and titrating critical drips for stepdown-level patients
- Team may include medical, surgical, and specialty staff with strong interdisciplinary support
- Epic EMR is used for documentation and charting
- Travelers are not eligible if they have ever worked as a permanent employee at any SolutionHealth facility
- Travelers living within 50 miles are accepted at a local rate
- Drug screen must be completed within 14 days prior to start date

- Active NH or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience, with strong background within the past year
- Certifications required: ACLS and BLS from AHA or Red Cross
- Current EKG testing required on arrival
- Epic EMR experience is required
- First-time travelers accepted only with at least 2 years of experience and Epic experience
- Must be able to manage and titrate multiple cardiac and vasoactive drips including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrilin, Labetalol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitoring systems is required
