Desired Qualifications:

• Valid State Special Education Teaching License
• Documented experience successfully leading a high school Life Skills or self-contained classroom (experience in standard resource settings or general case management will not be considered)
• In-depth knowledge of transition planning and adaptive skill instruction for high school students
• Strong organizational abilities for managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and transitional goals

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized, individualized instruction focused on functional academics, daily living skills, personal independence, and community integration
• Supervise and mentor classroom paraprofessionals, ensuring a supportive and efficient learning environment
• Develop, implement, and review IEPs with clear functional goals and post-secondary transition plans tailored to each student’s needs
• Foster a classroom atmosphere that emphasizes real-world skills and positive student outcomes
