Actively seeking an experienced and hands-on Dietary Director to lead food service operations at our facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dietary services, ensuring high-quality meal preparation, regulatory compliance, and a positive dining experience for residents. The ideal candidate is an organized leader who balances operational efficiency with compassionate, resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage daily dietary operations, including food production, service, sanitation, and safety
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, ServSafe, sanitation standards)
- Plan, implement, and oversee nutritionally balanced menus tailored to resident needs and preferences
- Collaborate with clinical and nursing teams to accommodate special diets and therapeutic meal plans
- Manage departmental budgets, food costs, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop dietary staff to ensure consistent coverage and performance
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective action as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen and dining environment
- Address resident feedback and concerns promptly to enhance satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dietary Director or Food Service Manager in healthcare, senior living, or institutional dining
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control
- ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
