Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a mental health and behavior self-contained program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position will provide meaningful impact for students while you collaborate with a passionate team, all within a supportive middle school environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid New Hampshire Teaching License is required
- Previous experience working with mental health and behavioral needs strongly preferred
- Background in Special Education, ideally serving self-contained classrooms
- Strong evaluation, case management, and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families
Role & Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students with mental health and behavioral challenges in a self-contained middle school program
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10-16 students, providing individualized instruction and documentation
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to guide student progress and adaptations
- Maintain detailed records and complete case management duties, including creating and updating IEPs
- Attend, contribute to, and sometimes lead meetings with staff and families
- Foster a supportive, structured learning environment that encourages growth and development
The schedule for this position is approximately 32.5–35 hours per week, following the school day from 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM, spanning the academic year from September 1, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
