Burgess Homes is a custom home builder that designs and builds high-quality homes for families in Central Massachusetts. We focus on smart design, clear guidance, and best building practices. We are growing and looking for the right person to lead all preconstruction work for our clients.
We are searching for aPreconstruction Manager who can take a new project from first plan review all the way to a contract-ready budget. This person must be strong in estimating, organized with details, and comfortable using technology, including JobTread.
What You Will Do
- Prepare accurate estimates for custom homes
- Review plans and create material takeoffs
- Gather bids and quotes from vendors and subcontractors
- Track bids and follow up to ensure timely pricing
- Build clear budgets and scopes of work
- Help guide clients on design, selections, and costs
- Work with designers, engineers, and the Owner to finalize plans
- Enter and manage information in JobTread and other software
- Prepare the full preconstruction handoff package for the build team
- Help improve our internal systems and workflows
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in residential estimating or project development
- Ability to read and understand construction plans
- Strong math and takeoff skills
- Good communication with clients and subcontractors
- Comfort with technology → JobTread experience is a big plus
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage several jobs at a time
- Interested in quality building practices and smarter home design
