ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're seeking a dedicated independent contractor pharmacy courier to join our team. You'll be responsible for ensuring the timely and secure delivery of medications from pharmacies to nursing homes, senior living facilities, hospitals, and to customer homes while also providing excellent customer service to all our patients.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Adhere to established schedules, arriving on time at pick-up locations and completing deliveries according to timelines.
- Safely transport a variety of essential medications to their designated destinations (e.g., pharmacies, hospitals, care facilities, homes).
- Adhere to all applicable regulations and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Load and unload deliveries with care, ensuring the integrity of the medication.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and ensure chain of custody for medications.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff and recipients.
- Operate and maintain a suitable vehicle for delivery services.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
- Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record: A current, unrestricted driver's license and a history of safe driving are essential.
- Vehicle Requirements:
- A personal vehicle, less than 10 years old, and in good working condition.
- This vehicle will need to be up to take on inspection and insurance.
- The vehicle should be able to accommodate the typical size and weight of medications and medical supplies. A car, van, or SUV is acceptable.
- Insurance Requirements:
- Commercial Auto Insurance: Personal auto insurance policies often do not cover business use. Independent couriers are usually required to have commercial auto insurance (sometimes called "commercial traveling" cover) to protect against accidents and liabilities while performing deliveries.
- General Liability Insurance: This type of insurance protects against claims of bodily injury or property damage that might arise during delivery activities.
- Cargo Insurance: Some clients may require cargo insurance to cover the value of the goods being transported in case of damage or loss.
- Background Check: Successful candidates will be subject to a background check.
- HIPAA Understanding : Familiarity with and adherence to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and protected health information (PHI) is vital.
- Age Requirement: 21 years of age or older.
- Smartphone and Basic Tech Skills: Comfortable using smartphone apps for routing and communication.
- Physical Ability: Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (if required by the delivery items).
Role Type:
- Independent Contractor Courier
Available Times:
- Weekdays, Nights, and Weekends available
- Evenings, routes take place anywhere between 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, flexible as needed
- Flexible Scheduling
- Up to 2.5 hours per day.
Pay Information:
- $100 per day up to 2.5 hours per day.
- An additional $25 per hour after 2.5 hours
