Role Summary
· The SAP Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Solution Architect is responsible for the end-to-end solution design of the P2P workstream based on business, functional, and technical requirements from enterprise-scale customers within the Retail or Fashion & Lifestyle industries.
· The Solution Architect ensures that P2P solutions across SAP S/4HANA (MM, Supplier Management, Inventory Management, Invoice Management, Integration with FI, Ariba, and external procurement platforms) effectively support business goals such as spend control, supplier collaboration, compliance, operational efficiency, and scalability—while meeting customer objectives, timelines, and budgets.
· This role requires deep expertise in retail procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, vendor onboarding, purchasing, inventory integration, invoice processing, vendor payments, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Solution Ownership & Design
· Own the overall SAP P2P solution architecture, covering:
· Supplier onboarding and master data governance
· Sourcing and purchasing processes
· Purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and goods receipt
· Invoice verification, 3-way matching, and payment processing
· Design scalable P2P solutions aligned with Retail and Fashion business models, including indirect spend, direct materials, seasonal buying, drop-ship, and contract-based procurement.
· Ensure tight integration of P2P with SAP FI, CO, Inventory Management, EWM, TM, SAP Ariba, tax engines, and third-party vendor networks.
· Translate complex business requirements into robust SAP P2P solutions that support automation, compliance, and spend visibility.
Customer Engagement & Advisory
· Act as a trusted advisor for SAP P2P best practices by:
· Leading executive-level and functional P2P workshops (Explore, Fit-to-Standard, Design Thinking).
· Advising clients on procurement operating models, supplier collaboration strategies, and control frameworks.
· Supporting customers in streamlining procurement processes while ensuring audit, SOX, and regulatory compliance.
· Clearly articulate P2P processes, integrations, and design decisions to both business and technical stakeholders.
· Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost savings across the P2P lifecycle.
Delivery & Governance
· Oversee P2P design and delivery activities across multiple projects or a large transformation program.
· Collaborate with Project Managers and Consulting Managers to:
· Define scope, estimates, timelines, and resource plans.
· Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement complexity, supplier dependencies, and compliance.
· Ensure P2P solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
· Validate that solutions support KPIs such as spend under management, invoice accuracy, procurement cycle time, and supplier performance.
Pre-Sales & Practice Contribution
*Participate in pre-sales efforts by*:
· Shaping SAP P2P solution strategies and target architectures.
· Contributing to proposals, work plans, timelines, and cost estimates.
· Demonstrating thought leadership in procurement transformation discussions.
· Partner with Rizing Sales to convert procurement challenges into well-defined consulting engagements aligned to business value.

Leadership & People Development
· Provide functional leadership for the SAP P2P workstream.
· Mentor and coach P2P consultants and solution leads.
· Identify training needs and support upskilling of Rizing’s procurement practice resources.
· Provide structured and meaningful feedback on team performance.
· Act as a role model, reinforcing delivery excellence, collaboration, and client-centric behavior.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
· Stay current on SAP P2P and procurement innovations, including:
· S/4HANA enhancements
· SAP Ariba integration
· Automation, workflow, and analytics
· SAP BTP-based extensions
· Research and implement accelerators, tools, and best practices to improve P2P delivery efficiency.
· Champion Rizing methodologies and recommend process improvements to strengthen operational excellence.
· Document and share P2P knowledge through playbooks, templates, and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification.
· 10–12+ years of SAP functional and solution architecture experience, with deep expertise in SAP Procure-to-Pay.
· Demonstrated experience delivering P2P solutions for Retail or Fashion & Lifestyle customers.
· Strong understanding of cross-functional integrations involving MM, FI, CO, Inventory Management, EWM, Ariba, and third-party procurement systems.
· Experience leading at least 2 full SAP S/4HANA or ECC project lifecycles in an Architect or Lead role.
· Knowledge and experience with attune implementation methodology or similar structured methodologies.
