SUMMARY:

The Senior Director of Clinical Services will help oversee the operations of all clinical staff in Outpatient, Inpatient, Community Servies and Utilization Review. This position will provide leadership in clinical training and research projects that enhance the clinical competency of the staff, ensure maintenance with current best practices, and advance Gosnold as a clinical leader in addiction treatment. The Senior Director of Clinical Services must possess demonstrated leadership and managerial skills to work effectively with staff, management, other professionals, and the community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, direct, monitor, and evaluate daily operations, participating with Senior Management to assure that Gosnold provides high quality and cost-effective patient care, consistent with the organization’s mission, philosophy, and values.
  • Participate as a member of the senior management team in strategic planning, performance improvement, and overall clinical operations for the organization.
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with referral, funding and regulatory agencies, managed care organizations and the community at large and interact with these parties to advance corporate goals.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, funding, managed care and referral entities and the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with these entities.
  • Experience should include direct patient care and progressively higher supervisory responsibility.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans, visions, goals and objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures and organizational structure for all clinical services.
  • Ability and experience in developing clinical strategies and providing direction to a multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Ensure operational compliance with the Joint Commission and other licensing and regulatory standards.
  • Identify key clinical processes and lead change initiatives to achieve clinical operational excellence.
  • Work with managers and staff to incorporate quality and process improvement methodology in the performance of their work and to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of patient care and services.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement programs (as related to clinical services), including clinical outcomes, pathways, evidence-based practices, patient satisfaction, staffing, accreditation, etc.
  • Commitment to high standards and a collaborative work ethic to ensure that clinical excellence and program integrity is balanced with an understanding of financial realities.
  • Work with information technology professionals to introduce and achieve clinical operational, cost, and labor-saving technological efficiencies into the organization.
  • Provide insight on current trends in addiction and mental health care and experience in developing successful operational systems to meet identified needs.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, Experience, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the job.

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the clinical administration of a multi-site addiction treatment. Experience should include both inpatient and outpatient care, including direct patient care and progressively higher supervisory responsibility.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. ability to utilize technology to improve clinical efficiency.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT required.
