This contract opportunity focuses on teaching and nurturing a small caseload of 4th and 5th graders, providing individualized attention and the ability to work collaboratively with a supportive team.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts DESE Special Education license (required)
- Prior experience in elementary special education, ideally with 4th and 5th grade students, is preferred
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, specialists, and families
- Commitment to student-centered learning and differentiated instruction
Role Overview:
- Begin as soon as possible, continuing through the school year
- Full-time schedule: 7:30 AM–3:30 PM (exact weekly hours to be determined)
- Work with a caseload of approximately 5–8 elementary students at a single school site
- Provide individualized and group instruction, adapting curriculum to student needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, with access to regular support from BCBA and clinicians
- Implement IEP goals and collect data to inform instruction and progress monitoring
- Maintain detailed records, participate in team meetings, and communicate regularly with caregivers
