Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in Substantially Separate Classrooms. This contract position offers a chance to collaborate closely with a dedicated team and directly influence the lives of young learners with significant disabilities.
This role is full-time, working onsite with two possible assignments: a K–1st grade classroom or a 3rd–5th grade classroom. Students in these rooms have a range of both cognitive and physical challenges; some are non-verbal, and several are on the autism spectrum. You’ll play a vital role in delivering structured, compassionate instruction, while working alongside fellow educators and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who provide behavioral support.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
- Experience with students with severe disabilities (both cognitive and physical)
- Knowledge of Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)
- Skills in applied behavior analysis preferred
- Comfortable supporting non-verbal students and those requiring toileting assistance
- Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide tailored, evidence-based instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Adapt tools and materials for accessibility
- Collaborate with RBTs, related service providers, families, and fellow teachers
- Collect ongoing data and adjust strategies as needed
- Support students with physical and personal care needs as necessary
