An industry-leading Fortune 1000 company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team. This team is responsible for building and scaling the core infrastructure, services, and internal platforms that power engineering teams across the organization.
In this role, you'll help design, develop, and maintain foundational systems that enable other engineers to build, deploy, and operate applications more efficiently. You'll work on complex technical challenges involving distributed systems, microservices, containerization, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with talented engineers across multiple teams.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable platform services and foundational infrastructure used by engineering teams across the organization.

Build and improve distributed systems and microservices that support highly available, reliable, and performant applications.

Contribute to the development and evolution of containerized infrastructure and cloud-native platforms.

Develop tools, frameworks, and automation that improve developer productivity and streamline software delivery.

Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with application engineering, infrastructure, and architecture teams to establish best practices and deliver effective platform solutions.

Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and help drive continuous improvements across the platform.
What We're Looking For

Strong professional experience in software engineering, ideally working on platform engineering, infrastructure, or backend systems.

Experience designing, developing, and supporting distributed systems and microservices architectures.

Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.

Experience working with cloud infrastructure, ideally within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Strong programming skills in at least one modern language, such as Go, Java, Python, or similar.

Understanding of system design principles, including scalability, reliability, performance, and fault tolerance.

Experience building production-grade software and working through complex technical challenges.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across engineering teams.
Nice to Have

Experience building internal developer platforms, shared infrastructure services, or platform engineering tools.

Familiarity with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and automated deployment workflows.

Knowledge of networking, cloud security, and production infrastructure operations.

Experience improving developer experience and standardizing engineering workflows across teams.
