Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $68.00 - $80.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts per Week | Every Other Weekend | Rotating Holidays

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing skills, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to effectively manage patients with varying levels of acuity while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License.

• Current BLS Certification.

• Current ACLS Certification.

• Minimum two (2) years of recent Emergency Room RN experience.

• Strong IV insertion and IV medication administration skills.

• Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring.

• Ventilator care experience.

• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity emergency setting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel ER RN experience.

• TNCC Certification.

• ENPC Certification.

• PALS Certification.

• De-escalation or Crisis Intervention Certification.

• Previous Charge Nurse or Emergency Department leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.

• Provide direct emergency nursing care and assist with emergency interventions.

• Monitor telemetry and recognize cardiac rhythm changes.

• Assist with ventilator management and advanced IV therapy.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.

• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

• Ensure compliance with hospital safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based activities.

• Support orientation and mentoring of new staff when assigned.
