Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A temporary opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide leave coverage in an elementary school setting in Springfield, MA. This contract position offers approximately 17 hours per week, starting as soon as possible, with an expected end date of February 13, 2026. Some additional make-up services may be required beyond this timeframe due to prior unfilled coverage.
The role involves delivering direct speech and language services to students in small groups, one-on-one sessions, or within inclusive classrooms. Key responsibilities include conducting evaluations for IEP eligibility, developing and participating in IEP meetings, writing and updating goals, as well as monitoring and documenting student progress. The caseload will primarily consist of students from kindergarten through 4th grade at an elementary school.
Preferred candidates will hold current SLP certification with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and possess experience working in school environments. Candidates must be ready to complete district onboarding requirements to begin assignment promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLP license with CCC credentials
- Experience providing speech-language therapy in K-4 educational settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and compliance
- Ability to conduct evaluations and develop appropriate therapy goals
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Flexibility to provide services in multiple instructional settings
