Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification in Special Education (state requirements must be met)
- Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with a range of developmental, cognitive, and behavioral needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student goals
- Compassion, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards diverse abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student’s needs
- Deliver engaging instructional lessons, adapting content and teaching methods for students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure effective accommodations and modifications
- Assess student progress regularly and communicate updates to parents and educational team members
- Create a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment for all learners
- Implement evidence-based interventions and manage classroom behavior effectively
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and ongoing staff training
