Job Description

Position Overview

Our staffing firm is partnering with a growing multi‑state law firm to hire a Litigation Attorney licensed in Massachusetts. This role focuses on residential foreclosure and creditors’ rights litigation, offering the opportunity to manage cases from initial review through resolution while working alongside an experienced and collaborative legal team.


Responsibilities

  • Handle foreclosure-related litigation from inception through resolution
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, depositions, and other appearances (as required)
  • Review and analyze pre- and post-judgment title issues to ensure marketable title or identify resolution strategies
  • Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, legal memoranda, and correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
  • Manage discovery, including drafting requests and responses, and reviewing documents
  • Communicate with clients regarding litigation strategy, case developments, and risk assessment
  • Track litigation deadlines and manage case progression efficiently
  • Maintain case status reports and collaborate regularly with paralegals
  • Assist with title curative and post-judgment matters
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including FDCPA, RESPA, and TILA considerations
  • Review and approve pre-bills and meet monthly billable hour requirements
  • Manage a high-volume caseload with strong attention to detail


Qualifications

Required

  • Active Massachusetts Bar license (in good standing)
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 3–5+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads efficiently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and handling discovery


Preferred

  • Admission to Rhode Island and/or New Hampshire Bar
  • Experience in foreclosure, real estate litigation, or creditor’s rights
  • Familiarity with FDCPA, RESPA, and TILA claims
  • Courtroom experience, including hearings, depositions, or trial work
  • Experience reviewing and resolving title issues
