Position: NPI Project Engineer
Location: Nashua, NH
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Hi-Speed Cable team. The position will be located onsite in our Nashua, New Hampshire office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead NPI project management activities for new High-Speed I/O cable assembly from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines.
- Lead cross-functional NPI teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain) to drive milestones from concept through mass production, ensuring successful product deployment across global manufacturing sites.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking progress and driving accountability across stakeholders. Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate status to stakeholders and leadership.
- Lead cross-functional NPI teams (including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain) to drive product deployment from initial concept through global transitions to new and existing manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate directly with global manufacturing sites to support production and process implementation.
- Manage internal and external suppliers for on time completion of actions
- Facilitate the validation and smooth transition of new products across global manufacturing sites (USA, China, Mexico, Vietnam).
- Manage and coordinate engineering build events, facilitate technical reviews, and track critical program milestones.
- Oversee project risk management, including participating in DFMEA/PFMEA reviews, identifying potential project risks, and driving mitigation actions.
- Manage & reduce risks including the development of alternatives using risk reduction tools in order to maintain project objectives and schedules.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-15%
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience in an Engineering or in a Project Management role a manufacturing environment in an engineering role
- Working knowledge of solid modeling tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.) to effectively communicate with design teams
- Strong knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, cross-functional leadership, and root-cause analysis
- Experience with PCBA SMT and/or soldering preferred
- Experience in the design and assembly of telecommunication cable assemblies preferred
