This role as a Pharmacy Floor Technician focuses on accurately picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. You support safe and efficient medication dispensing by following established procedures, maintaining accuracy, and complying with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of medications according to established procedures.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications, label and store them as needed during low-volume periods.
  • Manually package materials and products in accordance with pharmacy standards and procedures.
  • Pull and pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas, including prepack racks.
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to verify accuracy before final pharmacist review.
  • Alert the pharmacist on duty whenever a medication or product does not scan properly or appears incorrect.
  • Maintain designated workstation areas in a clean, organized state and replenish all required stock supplies.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA, to protect patient confidentiality and data.
  • Comply with departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code.
  • Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required or expected to support pharmacy operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the pharmacy.

Essential Skills

  • Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a retail pharmacy environment.
  • Proficiency in data entry with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at a moderate, sustained pace while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow instructions and complete documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a retail pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with scanning systems and automated labeling processes.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support various pharmacy tasks as needed.
  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality to support consistent pharmacy operations.

Work Environment

This position operates in a pharmacy setting with a primary shift of 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required. The role involves working at designated workstations, pulling medications from shelving and prepack racks, manually packaging products, and using scanning equipment to verify accuracy. Team members follow departmental policies on safety, attendance, and dress code while working in a regulated environment that requires strict adherence to HIPAA and other applicable regulations. Overtime, holiday, and weekend work may be required to meet operational needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Marlborough, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
