Job Description
Job DescriptionBuild a Career in Custom Compounding
In 1924, Alfred Fain opened a small Rhode Island tire shop. Nearly a century later, Teknor Apex has grown into a global custom compounder with operations across the U.S., Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China—still privately held and led by the Fain family. Our relationships with employees and customers are the engine behind our innovation.
“Manufacturing is a team sport and we work together to achieve our goals.” ~Jon FainA day in this role
It’s 6:45—either AM or PM—your shift begins. You review the job order, confirm item and lot numbers, and verify quantities. You set up blends, keep the extruder running within spec, and document production data clearly and legibly. Between runs, you keep the work area orderly, watch out for your safety and your teammates’, and step in to troubleshoot a machine issue or safely operate a fork truck to move materials. You wrap up by updating digital training modules and preparing a smooth handoff for the next operator.
