Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in work-life balance while still engaging closely with clients and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While providing services remotely, you will utilize teletherapy platforms and other virtual communication tools to offer both individual and group counseling.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify specific emotional and psychological care needs.

  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to support clients navigating grief, loss, and the emotional upheaval that often accompanies aging.

  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals—including physicians, social workers, and occupational therapists—to develop tailored care plans that address the holistic needs of geriatric clients.

  • Provide education and resources to family members and caregivers about mental health strategies that enhance wellbeing and foster better communication with elderly individuals.

  • Implement interventions, including cognitive stimulation programs, to improve mental acuity and quality of life among clients.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.

  • At least 4 years of recent experience in mental health counseling, specifically within the geriatric population.
