Job Description

An experienced Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is needed to lead pharmacy operations in a specialty pharmacy setting. This onsite role requires strong clinical expertise, regulatory compliance oversight, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support patient care and medication management.

Location:

  • Foxborough, MA (onsite)

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Weekend on-call rotation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, ACHC)
  • Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapies for specialty disease states
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a team-focused environment
  • Collaborate with Intake, Referral Services, Nursing/Clinical, and Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure seamless workflows
  • Support quality assurance activities, documentation, and incident resolution
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and operational procedures
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required
  • Connecticut Pharmacist License preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or similar pharmacy settings
  • Background in specialty, infusion, or compounding pharmacy—retail-only experience does not meet requirements
  • Experience working or supervising pharmacy technicians
  • Knowledge of specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements
  • Familiarity with CareTend software preferred
  • Strong leadership, clinical judgment, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software
  • Ability to work onsite and adapt to operational priorities

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with an immediate start and initial term of 13 weeks, with a possibility to extend to 26 weeks.
