An experienced Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is needed to lead pharmacy operations in a specialty pharmacy setting. This onsite role requires strong clinical expertise, regulatory compliance oversight, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support patient care and medication management.
Location:
- Foxborough, MA (onsite)
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Weekend on-call rotation
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, ACHC)
- Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapies for specialty disease states
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a team-focused environment
- Collaborate with Intake, Referral Services, Nursing/Clinical, and Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure seamless workflows
- Support quality assurance activities, documentation, and incident resolution
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and operational procedures
- Participate in weekend on-call rotation as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required
- Connecticut Pharmacist License preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or similar pharmacy settings
- Background in specialty, infusion, or compounding pharmacy—retail-only experience does not meet requirements
- Experience working or supervising pharmacy technicians
- Knowledge of specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements
- Familiarity with CareTend software preferred
- Strong leadership, clinical judgment, multitasking, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software
- Ability to work onsite and adapt to operational priorities
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with an immediate start and initial term of 13 weeks, with a possibility to extend to 26 weeks.
