Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational institution in Methuen, MA is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to support a diverse range of student needs. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with various special education programs, including high school inclusion, sub-separate autism programs, and resource room settings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to maximize student growth and engagement.
  • Manage classroom activities and provide academic support for K-12 students in varying special education settings.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education (SPED) teaching license.
  • Experience working with K-12 students, preferably across multiple grade levels and special education programs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

  • Location: Methuen, MA
  • Contract duration: Current school year (CSY)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Caseload: Varied, with seven openings available in different special education roles
