A specialized nursing role is available at a dynamic cardiac stepdown unit focusing on advanced cardiac patient care. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply expertise in telemetry monitoring and post-procedure nursing within a supportive hospital environment.
Located in Salem, NH, the unit provides care for patients with complex cardiac needs including post-TAVR, cardiac catheterizations, ablations, and patients on cardiac drips. The 24-bed unit maintains a patient ratio of 1:4 during days and nights, supported by a dedicated team including charge nurses, patient care technicians, and monitor technicians. Utilizing telemetry equipment and Allscripts documentation systems, the unit fosters high-quality cardiac care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care for post-TAVR, ablation, Watchman device, STEMI, pacemaker, and CardioMEMS patients
- Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiac drips with precision and vigilance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to hospital policies, unit-specific guidelines, and documentation requirements
- Support patient experience initiatives and maintain a clean, safe care environment
- Float to like units as needed according to unit floating policies
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with telemetry experience
- Previous experience in cardiac post-procedure care, including post-TAVR, cardiac catheterizations, and ablations
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring equipment and electronic documentation systems
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
