HIRING RANGE: $67,000 - $75,000 Annual (Non-Hourly), Paid Biweekly.
The Site Manager uses strong leadership, professionalism, proactiveness, and a people-centered approach to manage the Elmwood Avenue Shelter community, maintaining a safe and positive environment for guests and staff. This individual will foster strong relationships with service providers, community partners, and Champlain Housing Trust staff from other departments as applicable. Regular night and weekend shifts, including participation in an on-call rotations, is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Staff Supervision
Cultivate a high-performing team by providing a positive work environment that promotes professional growth and excellence among team members including the following the below duties.

Participate in staff planning and hiring process for site staff including long-term temporary or contracted workers.

Coordinate staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage of daily activities, review and process timesheets and time off requests according to CHT policies and procedures.

Coordinate with third party staffing agency as needed to ensure adequate coverage and performance of contracted workers.

Provide supervision and oversight of assigned staff including initial and ongoing training, direction, support and real-time feedback in a positive and professional manner.

Perform annual reviews and address any performance deficiencies in a timely manner, consulting with the Associate Director, and/or HR as applicable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Guest Relations
Provide a high-quality experience for all guests by performing the below duties.

Provide equitable, inclusive, high quality, courteous, and professional service to all guests from check-in through check-out.

Process intakes and discharges (voluntary or involuntary) with other service providers as appropriate.

Maintain site waitlist and communicate regularly with those on the list regarding housing status.

Provide appropriate information to guests, including code of conduct; enforce code of conduct up to and including removal from premises with utmost professionalism, respect, dignity, and a strong focus on safety of staff and guests.

Provide support to guests and service providers as needed.

Other duties as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Site Operations

Responsible for daily operations including coordination with city staff, food and supply purchases, invoice coding, budget, and monitoring and oversight of security contractors.

Ensure site remains clean, sanitary and safe for guests and staff, hiring, coordinating, and overseeing contracted maintenance as applicable and appropriate.

Perform or oversee collection and compilation of data and preparation of required reports.

Coordinate with designated city staff and community partners related to site operations, coordinating regular meetings as required.

Communicate issues of concern to the Associate Director, Director, CHT leadership, and partner agencies promptly and professionally.

Participate in emergency on-call rotations as required.

Address on-site crises promptly, with the least invasive means necessary to resolve the matters while ensuring the safety of site staff and guests.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Regular night and weekend shifts, including participation in an on-call rotations is required.

Ability to pass a criminal background check required
-
Experience providing direct service in social work, psychology, or another human services or health care field is required.

Knowledge of and experience in business management, shelter operations, site management,
conflict management and resolution is strongly preferred.
-
Prior supervisory experience is required; supervisory experience in a high-risk setting is strongly preferred.
-
Previous experience working with high-risk populations in a site-based setting, applying trauma informed practices is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of area resources and programs available to low-income individuals, including transportation, health services, and housing is strongly preferred.

Ability to perform work with empathy, consideration, respect and professionalism under stressful circumstances is essential.

High level of self-motivation required.

Familiarity with confidentiality, HIPAA regulations and ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential, professional manner.

Reliable transportation required.

Physical and Mental Abilities: The Site Manager must have the physical and mental abilities to perform the essential duties listed above. However, reasonable accommodation may be extended to help perform those duties. The job entails long periods of sitting at a desk, standing and walking indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. There may be prolonged periods of computer work and some vehicle travel. While performing the essential duties of this job the Site Manager will have to use eyes, hands and fingers, walk, stand, reach, or lift up to 25 pounds.
WORK ATMOSPHERE
Champlain Housing Trust is a non-profit, member-based organization. The work entails significant self-motivation and regular interaction with members of the public, often in high-stress situations. Occasional travel to meetings and seminars may be required.
