Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a night shift cardiac progressive care position requiring Epic proficiency and a NH or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care hospital
- Cardiac focus with common diagnoses including chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia
- Patient ratios are 1:5
- Float to similar units as needed
- Weekend shifts are required every other weekend
- Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- Unit handles s/p cath with stent only (no CABG), ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions
- May see medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic overflow
- Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required
- No on-call
- Preferred skills include CPI, sheath removal, and care of ventilated patients
- Scrub color of choice is permitted
- No parking costs
- If assigned during all three major winter holidays, at least two must be worked; holiday time off is based on unit need
- A reduced travel rate applies for candidates living within 50 miles of the facility
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
- This is a trauma facility
- First-time travelers must meet all experience and Epic requirements

- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience within the last year
- AHA or Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications required
- EKG test required on arrival
- Epic charting experience required
- References are required for consideration (may start with second reference pending)
- First-time travelers considered only with 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency
- Pending license may be accepted
- Travelers who have ever been employed at any facility associated with Elliot Health System or SolutionHealth are not eligible
