Role Description The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a full-time, on-site role based at SELA’s campus in Hingham, MA. The LPN will provide daily health services to students and staff, including assessment of minor injuries and illnesses, administration of medications, and monitoring chronic health conditions according to individual care plans. This role includes maintaining accurate health records, documenting all clinic visits, and ensuring compliance with state and school health policies. The LPN will collaborate with school leadership and families to support student safety, develop health-related protocols, and participate in emergency response and wellness initiatives. The LPN may also assist with health education activities and promote a safe, inclusive environment aligned with SELA’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Massachusetts and current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated skills in pediatric or school-based nursing, including assessment, medication administration, and care planning.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, educators, and external healthcare providers.
  • \n

  • Ability to maintain accurate, confidential health records and follow regulatory and school health guidelines.
  • \n

  • Experience in managing emergencies, infection control practices, and promoting health and wellness in group settings.
  • \n

  • Comfort working in a multicultural, multilingual environment; familiarity with Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • \n

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a busy school setting while maintaining a calm, supportive presence.
  • \n

  • Previous experience in a school, pediatric clinic, or similar environment preferred.
