An opportunity is available to provide dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional support within a K-12 Life Skills classroom setting. This role focuses on assisting a student requiring comprehensive support with daily activities, academic tasks, and communication.

Location: Holyoke, MA
Duration: School Year Contract (ASAP 6/25/2026)
Schedule: Full-Time, 3537.5 hours/week | 7:15 AM 3:10 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized assistance for a student in a Life Skills classroom, focusing on safety, engagement, and participation.
  • Support toileting needs, including dressing/undressing, diaper changes, and hygiene.
  • Escort student to/from the nurses office for g-tube feedings administered by nursing staff.
  • Offer hand-over-hand guidance for assignments and activities.
  • Facilitate communication using an iPad communication board; adapt to alternative communication programs as introduced.
  • Collaborate with staff and family members to enhance student support; bilingual Spanish speakers are preferred to assist with family communication but not required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Additionally, must have one of the following:
    • Associates degree,
    • At least 48 college credits,
    • Passing score on a formal assessment such as ParaPro or WorkKeys.
  • Previous experience as a school-based paraprofessional is required.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred.
