Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher within the Stepping Stones Program. This contract position focuses on grades 1-3 and is designed for passionate professionals ready to make a meaningful difference in students’ educational journeys. The position is full-time for the entire school year, beginning as soon as possible, with students arriving on September 2.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Prior experience with elementary grades, particularly in special education settings
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet diverse learner needs
- Flexibility, compassion, and patience when working with young children
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction following students’ IEP goals
- Participate in the Stepping Stones Program’s collaborative educational team
- Develop, modify, and implement lesson plans tailored to various learning styles
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
- Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and school staff about student achievements and challenges
- Provide advocacy and support to ensure all students have access to appropriate resources and interventions
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth in a positive classroom environment
