Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), or eligibility for state licensure
• Proven experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
• Strong understanding of braille instruction, adaptive technology, and accessible curriculum design
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
• Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional strategies to individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, using specialized teaching methods and materials
• Assess students' abilities and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
• Support classroom teachers by offering strategies and resources to ensure students have equitable access to the curriculum
• Integrate assistive technology and braille literacy into daily instruction
• Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and participate in IEP meetings to review student goals
• Serve as an advocate for students and educate staff and families about visual impairments
