General Description:

The primary function of the Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA)/Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of individuals residing in our Acquired Brain Injury or Turning 22 Residents. The LABA or BCBA also consults with and teaches staff members regarding Positive Behavior Supports, De-escalation techniques; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members, related services providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate. The Clinician (LABA or BCBA) reports directly to the Clinical Director of Residential Services.

General Qualifications:

  • Licensed through the Massachusetts Allied Health and Human Services or another state licensing board, and Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and advanced degree preferred.
  • At least two years experience working with individuals with IDD/ DD or ABI and their families.
  • Supervisory experience
  • A safe driving record, current driver’s license and current motor vehicle liability insurance.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports
  • Experience developing positive behavior support plans and programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals, parents/caregivers, and other professionals
  • Competence in analyzing assessment results, designing appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioral programs, and monitoring progress
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team member, demonstrate flexibility and desire to learn new skills and improve professional qualifications, and travel independently in rural/remote locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day aspects of The Arc’s clinical services for residential programs.
  • Use appropriate assessment instruments and data to develop and implement teaching programs and behavior plans.
  • Ensure the implementation of treatment plans, document contacts and observations; use professional knowledge and independent judgment to strategize continuous improvements.
  • Provide training and supervision to direct service providers through observations, meetings, performance coaching and other methods.
  • Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for individuals receiving behavioral interventions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare and complete reports as required.
  • Ensure that all treatment plans and programs comply with DDS regulations and meet or exceed professional standards.
  • Provide consultation, training, and assistance to other outside providers and family members as requested.
  • Provide staff development, training, and modeling for staff and management in strategies and methodologies for working with individuals with ABI or ID/DD and other clinical diagnoses, including Positive Behavior Supports.
  • Attend instructor training for Positive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges (PABC) and facilitate trainings for agency staff.
  • Participate in ISP, or Treatment Planning meetings for individuals as appropriate.
  • Promote positive public relations, facilitate interagency collaboration, and advocate for the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive services.
  • Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, classes, team meetings and program visitations.

Salary: $40-$42/hour
